Family offices

Private family office medical support.

Private family office medical support is a different problem from corporate coverage. The people being protected are a family. There are children, older parents, chronic conditions, medications, a house, several houses, and a detail that is with them most of the day.
That changes what the medical plan has to answer. A 9 year old has an asthma attack at a ski house, two hours from the nearest hospital that can treat her. The plan covers that call too.
Raven has run a program like this for a Silicon Valley family office since 2020. Medical direction, clinical oversight, and hands-on training of every security officer on the detail.

What private family office medical support includes

01

Medical direction for the detail

A physician of record for the program, written protocols for the officers on the detail, and a number that reaches a doctor during an event rather than after it.
What you get
Standing orders written to each officer's certification level
A signed, defensible scope of practice
Physician availability by phone or video
Clinical review after any medical event
02

Planning around the family

The plan is built from the actual medical history of the people covered. Allergies, cardiac history, asthma, diabetes, pregnancy, the medications in the house and the ones that travel.
What you get
Kit and medication specification per residence and per vehicle
Pediatric and geriatric considerations written in, not assumed
Receiving hospitals identified for every location the family uses
Emergency information the detail can act on without calling the office
03

Travel & coverage

The medical advance runs alongside the security advance. Where the family is going, what the hospital there can actually do, and how someone gets out if it cannot.
What you get
Pre-travel medical advance, domestic and international
Physician coverage on site for high-risk or remote travel
Evacuation and receiving facility coordination
Controlled substance handling inside each jurisdiction's law

Your officers stay your officers

Most family offices already have a detail they trust. The medical component gets built on the officers you already have.
We assess where each officer sits clinically, train to close the gaps, and write the protocols they work under. Some have paramedic licenses. Some have a weekend course from four years ago. Those two get different standing orders.
Training recurs, because medical skills fade quickly when they are not used. An officer who was competent in March is not automatically competent in November.

Discretion

Family medical information is the most sensitive material in a protection program. Clients are not named, engagements are not used as marketing, and the Silicon Valley program referenced above stays unnamed for that reason. Medical records and family health information are handled under the same confidentiality any physician owes a patient.

How it starts

01
A call with the family office principal or director of security.
02
Assessment of the detail, the residences, the travel pattern and the family's medical picture.
03
Training and kit built to close what the assessment found.
04
Protocols and scope of practice delivered, then ongoing physician availability on retainer.
