About
Emergency physician, medical director, published author.
Michael Guirguis, MD is a protective medicine physician. He received his degree from Harvard Medical School and is board certified in emergency medicine. He has been practicing medicine for over 20 years, across EMS, tactical medicine, flight medicine and prehospital care. He is also a sworn reserve sheriff deputy in Southern California, spending the majority of his time in Sheriff Air Rescue Division, Dive Team.
That work has run in parallel across several settings. Level 1 trauma centers and community emergency departments. A county sheriff air rescue helicopter and dive team. A 911 dispatch center, a county EMS advisory committee, a federal disaster medical assistance team, a NASCAR track and a professional hockey rink.
In 2020 he formed Raven Medical Support Group, which provides physician-led medical direction, governance oversight, and integrated medical support for executive protection teams, private security operations, and family offices operating in complex or high-risk environments. He also writes for the security and medical press, with peer-reviewed papers in Prehospital and Disaster Medicine and the Journal of Travel Medicine and more than twenty industry articles, and teaches Stop the Bleed as a certified instructor.
